Got a Mountain Trek!

So I'm finally going to be taking out a mountain trek this week. It should be a lot of fun. I've really been looking forward to it. I don't have a lot of time now to write because I meet the kids today and won't have any free time once I meet them.

The crew from Texas was a handful. Having five adults and five kids, it was an odd mix. Also one of the advisors was having some problems making it up Urraca mesa. They should be going over Mt. Phillips today, so I wish them the best of luck.

On my two days off, I decided to go on a little solo adventure. First off I went into Taos to see "Kung Fu Panda." Then it was off to Red River to get ready for a nice relaxing hike. This was the same hike David, Robbie, and I attempted in 2005, but we only made it up to Taos Cone. This time, I went to Taos Cone, Red Dome, Old Mike Peak, Simpson Peak, Wheeler, and Mt. Walter before returning to the trailhead. There was a lot of snow up there on the northern slopes and at one point, I actually wished I had skis. It would have made the decent a lot easier. I got a lot of great pictures, but I haven't had time to go through them yet, so it may be a while before I get them uploaded. Now, it's time for laundry and packing.
