Up and Running
Well I finally got around to writing another post. The internet here is so slow that it's a lot harder than I anticipated to maintain a website. I'm not sure how well I'll be able to stay on top of things this summer, but we'll see. I did manage to get some pictures from training online. You can see them here.
After training, the first crews arrived. There were only two Mountain Trek crews the first week, and since there are nine rangers, some of us had to take out regular crews. I took out a crew from Texas. They were one of those weird crews with five kids and five adults. We went from Rayado River camp to Urraca. On my hike in, I found the eye of Urraca Mesa and visited Crater Lake for a while.
Now I've got a few days off before I pick up a Mountain Trek on Sunday. I'm not sure what I'll end up doing, but I don't really want to be in base camp much longer. The weather out here has been very dry and windy and I think I picked up a cold somewhere along the way. It would be nice to go somewhere and climb a mountain but I can't think of any that I haven't already done. Maybe something will come up. I just really don't want to be in base camp for three whole days.
